Past Meetings
April Meeting - Representatives from El Paso County, COGCC and Ultra were present. In addition citizens and the media representatives were present. Ultra provided an update on their exploration drilling and wells. At this point, Ultra has no future plans for any additional drilling in El Paso County due to their testing results. Nancy Prince from COGCC provided a summary of the new COGCC rule changes regarding water sampling and setbacks. No current problems or concerns were noted.
February Meeting - Representatives from El Paso County, City of Colorado Springs, Ultra, Hilcorp, and COGA were present. In addition citizens and the media representatives were present. Ultra and Hilcorp provided an update on their exploration drilling and wells. Ultra's drilling results are still pending. Hilcorp has competed drilling at the Myers Well. Testing is pending. Hilcorp and Select, Inc., provided information and a possible cause of the fresh water spill that occurred at the Myers' well site on December 16, 2012. Hilcorp has not started drilling at the State Well. A discussion was also held concerning the current status of the proposed rule changes by COGCC. No current problems or concerns were noted.
December Meeting - Representatives from El Paso County, Banko and Hilcorp were present. In addition several citizens and the media representatives were present. Hilcorp provided an update on their exploration drilling and wells. The signed MOU with COGCC regarding water quality baseline testing was discussed. No current problems or concerns were noted.
October Meeting - Representatives from the County, Ultra, Hilcorp, Banko, Cherokee Water Metro District and the Health Department were present. In addition citizens and the media representatives were present. Ultra and Hilcorp provided an update on their exploration drilling and wells. Ultra is still waiting for their testing to be complete. Hilcorp will complete their seismic testing by next week and anticipate drilling at their Myers site by December. A discussion was also held concerning the status of the County’s IGA with COGCC. No current problems or concerns were noted. Sean Chambers from Cherokee Water Metro District presented to the group on their Phase II Water Quality Testing Program.
