December 17, 2025 – El Paso County is inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply for funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The federal grant provides reimbursement funding to eligible nonprofits that serve low- to moderate-income residents in unincorporated El Paso County and participating municipalities outside the city limits of Colorado Springs. The application cycle will be open from January 2 to February 2, 2026.

In 2024, eight nonprofit organizations received a total of $134,557 in CDBG funds for public service projects that assisted 1,662 eligible clients across El Paso County.

“Across El Paso County, nonprofit organizations play a vital role in improving quality of life for residents,” said Luke Houser, Community Development Analyst for El Paso County Economic Development. “Through CDBG funding, we can strengthen these organizations and help deliver essential services to those who need them most.”

All CDBG-funded projects must align with one or more Consolidated Plan goals related to housing, homelessness and special needs, or community development. Local nonprofits may be eligible for funding in the Public Service category if they serve clients within El Paso County but outside the city limits of Colorado Springs. Eligible communities include Calhan, Fountain, Green Mountain Falls, Manitou Springs, Monument, Palmer Lake, Ramah, and unincorporated El Paso County. Approved applicants can expect reimbursement for eligible activities during their 12-month grant period, once all required federal approvals are met.

Interested nonprofits are encouraged to contact Luke Houser at El Paso County Economic Development for guidance on eligibility and the application process. More information is available at www.elpasoco.com or by emailing CDBG@elpasoco.com.
