March 29, 2021 – Fountain Creek Nature Center announces their calendar of events for April. The classes and programs are listed below by date. ONLINE REGISTRATION is available at https://communityservices.elpasoco.com/nature-centers/.

All programs require pre-registration. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is extremely limited and programs are subject to change. Please call the nature center or check website for current status.

Nature Adventures: The Very Busy Tree

Thursdays, April 1 & 15, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid registration required.

2s & 3s Outdoors: Busy Beavers

Thursdays, April 8 & 22, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid registration required.

Chocolate Bunny Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 3, 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., & 1:00 p.m.

Join the Bunny Guide to search for eggs along the trail and exchange your finds for a chocolate bunny! This fun and educational Fountain Creek tradition has been adapted to offer a safer experience during the pandemic. Prepaid registration required for every person in attendance, regardless of age.

Nature’s Classroom Field Trip Series

Nature’s Classroom gives students the opportunity to explore the natural world through activities such as puppet shows, games, hikes, experimentation, and more! Students have fun, get outside, and learn Colorado State Learning Standards along the way. $4 per person including parents and siblings, Prepaid registration required. Great American Cleanup

Adult Birding Club

Thursday, April 15, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Classroom session at Fountain Creek Nature Center

Saturday, April 17, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Birding Field Trip at Pineries Open Space (pending weather)

Become a more confident birder over the next year by slowly learning details, tips, and tricks each month! In our April meetings, we will focus our learnings on common feeder birds like chickadees, woodpeckers, and nuthatches. Prepaid Registration Required. $15 per meeting or $200 for the year (all 24 meetings). Per-session signup available after March 4. All-year package available as space remains.
