Peaceful Warriors Yoga in the Park- Flow with Bear Creek

Trivia in the Park at Fox Run Regional Park

Spend an evening among the trees and test your knowledge with family friendly trivia all about Colorado, nature, and more! Meet at the amphitheater and bring a lawn chair or blanket. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Perseid Meteor Shower Photography Workshop at Kane Ranch Open Space

Saturday, August 12, 10:00 p.m.

Colorado Springs photographer Mike Pach of 3 Peaks Photography & Design will guide this nighttime photography workshop to capture images during the Perseid Meteor Shower. Stay until the height of the shower at 2am or leave earlier if you choose. Bring camera with wide variety of lenses and tripod/remote if you have one. Dress for weather and bring a camping chair. All skill levels.

These guided overnight photography workshops led by Mike Pach of 3 Peaks Photography & Design will include how to photograph the Milky Way and the stars as points of light, how to photograph star trails, light paint-ing techniques, how to post-process your images in Photoshop and Lightroom. Santa Fe Open Space in Palmer Lake is one of El Paso County’s newest Open Spaces. Meet at the Palmer Lake Recreation Area and take a hike to learn a bit about the natural and cultural history of this beautiful area. Hike is approximately 3 miles total with some mild/moderate uphill and downhill sections. $5 per person/ $4 per member

Bear Creek A’Buzz: Annual Honey Harvest & Pollinator Celebration Day

Saturday, August 26, 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Watch beekeepers harvest honey from hives, see bees in action in their observation hive, and learn about the importance of bees and other pollinators. Visit pollinator gardens and learn about native plants from the Broadmoor Garden Club. Activities, crafts, samples of honey and local honey available for purchase. $2 per person
