January 14, 2026 – El Paso County will close a segment of Beacon Lite Road beginning Tuesday, January 20 at 8:00 a.m. through Wednesday, January 21, at 4:00 p.m.
Why the closure is needed:
Crews are installing a Town of Monument water main connection, scheduled now due to the Beacon Lite Road project; this work is under a separate Town of Monument contract.
Detour:
Traffic will detour via Wakonda Way. Follow posted signs and refer to project detour map.
What to expect during the closure:
- Full closure at the work zone with a signed detour
- Local access maintained for residents and businesses within the closure limits
- Trucks and equipment entering and exiting the roadway
- Schedule is weather-dependent
