Master Plan Visioning Workshop

As El Paso County continues to develop its County Master Plan, the El Paso County Planning and Development Department is hosting another round of public engagement in the form of a Visioning Workshop tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, 2019. The meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

The Visioning Workshop will begin with a brief presentation of data and input the Planning Department has gathered from the public so far. After the presentation, the remainder of the workshop will be comprised of a Q&A session featuring a live poll, where the Planning Department aims to get even more public feedback on topics and ideas pertaining to the County Master Plan

The goal of this Visioning Workshop is gain even more insight into public opinions, concerns and suggestions as the county moves forward with developing the County Master Plan.

If residents cannot make it to the Visioning Workshop in person, the county will also be streaming the workshop live on the its main Facebook page (, so residents can also participate in the live polling from home via Facebook Live. The Facebook Live will begin at the same time as the meeting, 6:00 p.m.

The Master Plan development process will take about two years to complete, and once completed the County Master Plan will examine County land use, infrastructure, water capacity, transportation networks, government services, and other important topics. The aim of the Master Plan is to better serve and accommodate the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors to the County. The Master Plan will integrate and expand on concepts from the current Countywide Policy Plan and several recent plans and studies. Examples include the Major Transportation Corridors Plan (2016) and the Parks Master Plan (2013), as well as other ongoing County initiatives, like the Water Master Plan (2018) and broadband strategic plan efforts.
