enewing your vehicle registration while away from home gets easier beginning Monday, March 5. Residents of 12 Colorado counties that offer the Colorado MVExpress kiosks will be able to renew in any of the participating counties.
“We began offering self-service, secure kiosks as an option for El Paso County residents to renew their vehicle registration last September,” said Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman. “Now, counties are collaborating to offer residents the opportunity to easily renew when they’re out of their home county to work, visit friends, shop, or attend college. The kiosks reduce wait times at counters and make more clerks available for complex transactions.”
The cross-county kiosk service is available only to residents of the 12 participating counties. When a person renews at the kiosk in another county, they will pay the fees for their own home county. Thanks to a tool developed by the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, residents can find the nearest kiosk to their current location. http://bit.ly/2oDz23D
El Paso County has four kiosks at Motor Vehicle Branches. Our slogan is Skip the Line – Save Time! It takes just a few minutes to renew and immediately receive the year tab for the license plate, registration, and payment receipt. We have the first and only 24-hour kiosk in the state at the North Branch where residents can renew their registration any day, any time. The three interior kiosks are open during business hours at Citizens Service Center, Centennial Hall and the Powers/Southeast Branch.
People also have the option to renew their registration online www.colorado.gov/renewplates, by mail, phone, or with a clerk at one of our Motor Vehicle offices.
