September 13, 2024 – Registration for the Fall 2024 El Paso County Citizen College is now open. This edition of Citizen College will serve as an introductory program to better connect citizens to the services and major functions of El Paso County.
“Citizen College offers us a unique opportunity to step behind the curtain and see how our county plans to support its residents,” said Ruble Henderson, Chair of the El Paso County Citizen Outreach Group. “It’s not just about policies; it’s about people. We’ll have the chance to connect with county leaders, ask our burning questions, and explore how we can best serve and shape our vibrant and diverse community together.”
Citizen College will consist of six sessions, each focusing on different aspects of county government. Course sessions will occur at various locations from Monday, October 21, through Saturday, October 26. Each session is scheduled to last two to three hours. These sessions will include a look at:
- County Government
- Public Works & Emergency Management
- Assessor, Clerk & Recorder, Treasurer and a tour of the Citizen Service Center
- 4th Judicial District Attorney
- Public Safety & Criminal Justice
- Parks & Community Services
