August 2, 2021 – El Paso County announces the A-OK 4-H Club as the 2021 Creative Clover winner. Twelve 4-H and FFA groups participated in the inaugural Creative Clover program aimed at providing El Paso County Youth an opportunity to creatively share the importance of positive youth development programs.

“As an El Paso County 4-H Alumni myself, I recognize the impact the program made in my life and the importance of sharing the opportunity with others,” said Dayna Buffington, El Paso County Fair & Event Center Supervisor. “I am proud that we provided an opportunity for these youth to express their values and bring awareness to the program.”

Clubs were provided a four-leaf clover, the icon often used to represent the 4-H program nationwide. Participating youth decorated their clover to represent who they are as a club and were also encouraged to write a short essay on the importance of 4-H/FFA and the impact the program has made in their lives.

“We love learning and providing for something other than ourselves. 4-H provides us the opportunity for new experiences, provides us with safety; we are learning the proper way to do things. 4-H is an amazing place where I can be creative, and I’m free to be me.” An excerpt from the A-OK 4-H Club essay.

During the 2021 El Paso County Fair, visitors were encouraged to walk through the clover garden and vote on their favorite clover. At the conclusion of the Fair on Saturday, July 17 votes were tallied and the winning clover belonging to A-Ok 4-H Club was announced. The clover will be on display outside of Centennial Hall located at 200 South Cascade for the month of August.
