The scope of this project has been updated to include work at the Foxtail Meadow Road and Rolling Thunder Way intersection. Details can be found in blue, bold text below.
July 29, 2025 – Beginning Monday, August 4, Foxtail Meadow Road will be closed for full-depth reclamation and repaving work. Once complete, full access from Rolling Thunder Way and Woodmen Road will be restored.
The closure will remain in place for a couple of weeks, weather dependent.
Beginning Monday, August 11, the intersection of Rolling Thunder Way and Foxtail Meadow Road will be closed to complete the reconstruction of the intersection. This closure will remain in place for approximately ten days.
As the contractor started working on the intersection, the existing soils below the pavement section were saturated, which required additional measures to properly rebuild the intersection. This work will require that all traffic stay off the roadway so the pavement treatment can cure, which will provide a stable base for the new asphalt to be installed.
Access into and out of the neighborhood to the southwest of Woodmen Road and Meridian Road will be off of Golden Sage and Woodmen while Rolling Thunder is closed.
El Paso County is completing this work to ensure that the roadway will be rebuilt to last and prevent any additional issues from occurring in the future.
