October 29, 2025 – El Paso County will replace cross pans at several intersections crossing Del Brook Drive and Dean Drive. Construction activities will occur in stages, with the first stage scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 30. Each stage is expected to be completed in five working days, weather permitting. The final stage is scheduled to be completed in late November 2025.

El Paso County’s Department of Public Works replaces cross pans (concrete gutters) as part of an ongoing program to repair drainage and improve accessibility along County roads. This important program contributes to improved safety for pedestrians and motorists and aligns with the County’s vision of being a trusted regional leader known for excellence in county service delivery.

The drainage repairs along Del Brook Drive and Dean Drive must be completed before the County can begin road paving activities in the area, which are scheduled to occur in 2026.

Closures:

  • Del Brook Drive and Harvard Street intersection (east and west cross pans) – from Thursday, October 30
  • Dean Drive and Dartmouth Street intersection (east and west cross pans) – from Monday, November 3
  • Dean Drive and Harvard Street intersection – from Monday, November 3
  • Dean Drive and Judson Street intersection – from Thursday, November 6
  • Dean Drive and Cornell Street intersection – from Monday, November 10
  • Dean Drive and Ely Street intersection – from Monday, November 10
  • Dean Drive and Kilgore Street intersection – from Thursday, November 13
  • Dean Drive and Ithaca Street intersection – from Thursday, November 13.

Road closures will occur in stages, and detours will be in place until the drainage repairs have been completed.

  • Watch for workers, equipment, signs, and barricades.
