September 20, 2023 – The El Paso County Treasurer’s Office has partnered with Realauction.com to conduct the county’s first-ever online tax lien sale on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. This online format allows bidders nationwide to participate remotely, increasing exposure for available liens while eliminating travel costs.
“The ability to reach more bidders remotely and decrease costs led us to take our tax sale online this year,” said El Paso County Treasurer Chuck Broerman. “The online platform brings a vast network of investors to bid on our tax liens, ultimately driving revenues at no additional cost to the county or our residents.”
The available tax liens will be divided into batches for bidding. Pre-bidding on these batches will open at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time on September 20, 2023, at elpaso.coloradotaxsale.com. Interested bidders must register and fulfill all participation requirements prior to pre-bidding. Initial bidding will start at $0 per lien with no reserve price, and the highest bidder will win each lien. The tax lien sale will then commence in batches beginning at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time on October 17, 2023, with final bids ending at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on October 17, 2023.
