August 12, 2026 – Beginning Monday, August 17, at 8 a.m., crews will transition into Phase 2 of waterline and storm sewer work on the Beacon Lite Road Improvement Project. Beacon Lite Road will remain closed to through traffic through the project area while local access to homes and businesses is maintained.
During Phase 2, crews will shift their focus to storm sewer installation on Wakonda Way. Local Traffic Only barricades will remain in place at the south fork of Wakonda Way, and through traffic will continue to follow the signed detour.
Closure
1. Beginning Monday, August 17, at 8 a.m., the northern hard closure will shift farther north from the Phase 1 work area as crews continue waterline and storm sewer installation.
2. This hard closure is anticipated to remain in place for two weeks.
3. Crews have made strong progress on the waterline installation and are working to complete the waterline tie-in before Phase 2 begins. A concrete barrier will be used to protect the excavation while maintaining access through the southern portion of Beacon Lite Road.
Posted Detour
1. Access to homes and businesses will remain available during Phase 2.
2. Some residents may need to enter or exit from a specific direction depending on the location of active construction.
3. Property owners directly affected by changes in access will be contacted individually by the project team.
4. Drivers should follow posted signs and flagger directions and should not attempt to travel through the hard-closure area.
Detour Information
