Nature Adventures: Mysterious Muskrats
Thursday & Saturday, August 2 & 4, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy hands-on activities, puppet shows or stories, crafts and a hike. $3 per person including adults & siblings. Prepaid reservations required. Limit 20 participants.
Fountain Creek Nature Center Travels to Homestead Ranch Regional Park
Saturday, August 4. 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
We invite residents in the eastern El Paso County communities and beyond to visit with nature center staff, learn the role and function of El Paso County Nature Centers, play nature games with staff, see a puppet show, and explore interactive exhibits. Free!
Cattail Kids II Nature Camp
August 6-10, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
For children entering grades 1-5. This camp features our favorite outdoor activities including fishing, bug hunting, pond critters, beaver dam building and outdoor skills including shelter building. $130 per member child, $140 per nonmember child. Prepaid registration required.
Crazy Crawdads
Saturday, August 11, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
After a brief introduction to our “freshwater lobsters,” we’ll hike or caravan to a nearby pond to catch and release crawdads. Supplies provided. $4 per member, $5 per nonmember.
2s and 3s Outdoors: Sneaky Snakes
Thursday & Saturday, August 16 & 18, 9:00-10:15 a.m.
Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Limit 20 participants.
Magic Monarchs
Saturday, August 25, 10:00-11:30 a.m. & 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Discover the magical mystery of the monarch migration to Mexico. See an indoor presentation, make a craft, and search for caterpillars and adults to tag and release for research. $4 per member, $5 per nonmember.

Tea Party in the Woods: Trail Tales
