Nature Adventures: Woody Woodpeckers

Thursday, Nov. 1, 9-10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy hands-on activities, puppet shows or stories, crafts and a hike. $3 per person including adults & siblings. Prepaid reservations required. Limit 20 participants.


Saturday, November 3, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

What are dinosaurs? What did they look like? What color were they? What kinds lived in Colorado and at what time? This learning experience will include a discussion/talk and hands-on experience with actual dinosaur bone and other features of these fascinating animals! For teens-adults. Speaker, Prof. Mark Izold, Geologist/Paleontologist, Pikes Peak Community College. $3/member, $4/nonmember.

2s and 3s Outdoors: Modest Mouse

Thursday, Nov. 8, 9-10:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Limit 20 participants.

A Walk in the Woods for Vets & Families

Saturday, November 17, 10-11:30 a.m.

We invite veterans and family members to this special naturalist led hike. Service dogs OK. Reservations required. Free!

Saturday, November 24, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Bring your leftover small pumpkins (or potatoes) and see how far our catapult will launch your pumpkin piece! A great activity for families with young children. $2/member, $3/nonmember.

Kids’ Night Out at Bear Creek

Drop your kids off at Bear Creek for the evening. They will enjoy evening hiking, games and activities while parents enjoy an evening to themselves! Dinner included. Children ages 6-11. $15 per member, $20 per nonmember.

Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival Free Screening at Bear Creek Nature Center

Join us for RMWFI’s Festival in the Community. We will host an advanced screening of Overload: America’s Toxic Love Story, selected for the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival. Before starting a family, Soozie Eastman embarks on a journey to find out the levels of toxins in her body and explores if there is anything she or anyone else can do to change them. With guidance from world-renowned physicians and environmental leaders, interviews with scientists and politicians, and stories of everyday Americans, Soozie uncovers how we got to be so overloaded with chemicals and if there is anything we can do to take control of our exposure.

Bear Creek’s 4th Annual Bear Run 3k Fun Run & Walk Fundraiser
