April 16, 2025 – El Paso County proudly recognizes former El Paso County Fair youth participant and FFA member Trevor Hendrix for his continued achievements in agriculture and education. A 2023 El Paso County Fair 4-H/FFA Youth Award recipient, Trevor recently received the Joseph Fleming Memorial Continuing Scholarship from the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture for the 2025–2026 academic year.

“Trevor Hendrix is a shining example of the kind of youth who compete at the El Paso County Fair,” said El Paso County Parks & Community Services Executive Director Todd Marts. “He embodies the spirit of volunteerism, work ethic, perseverance, and commitment that our Fair strives to cultivate. It’s inspiring to see those values continue to shape his journey beyond the Fair and into a future rooted in agriculture and service.”

A Calhan native, Trevor exemplifies the values fostered through El Paso County’s youth programs. While participating in the El Paso County Fair and FFA activities, he stood out as a considerate, responsible, and hard-working young leader with a servant’s heart. His strong interpersonal skills and dedication to helping others made a lasting impact on fellow students, alums, and community members.

In 2023, the El Paso County Fair 4-H/FFA Youth Award recognized his leadership and contributions. Since then, he has continued to pursue excellence in and out of the classroom. Now studying Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University, Trevor’s commitment to agriculture and academic success is earning national recognition.

The Ferguson College of Agriculture, awarded more than $1.8 million in scholarships this year, selected Trevor for his outstanding academic and professional achievements. The scholarship was presented during the annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on April 3, 2025.
