Nature Adventures: Feathered Frenzy

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. Prepaid registration required. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Fountain Creek Family Fun Day

Saturday, May 6, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Explore outdoor activity stations including puppet shows, dinosaur fossils, bug sweeps, kite making, pond critters, crafts, and more. Free slice of pizza for all participants from Papa Murphy’s. FREE to activity duty military with I.D. $5 per person/$4 per member. Prepaid registration recommended, but not required.

2’s & 3’s Outdoors: Mighty Muskrats

Spring Bird Count

Saturday, May 13, 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Beginning to advanced birders count and record the numbers of bird species and populations found in Fountain Creek Regional Park during the height of spring migration. $5 donation recommended to support our bird feeders.

Active Adults: Sunset Bird Photography Workshop

Saturday, May 13, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Spring is a wonderful time to view birds, and the wetlands and woodlands at Fountain Creek Nature Center provide a perfect place for them to flock to. Join award-winning photographer, Mike Pach, as he helps you capture photos of spring migrants in the soft evening light. All skill levels welcome. Bring your camera and tripod (optional). Be prepared to photograph the sunset. Prepaid registration required. $20 per person.

Homeschool Fridays: Awesome Arthropods

Friday, May 26, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Geared towards grades K-2. Not “bugs” – arthropods! Learn about insects, spiders, and their relatives with a puppet show, arthropod activity and guided hike to catch arthropods. Prepaid registration required. $4 per person.

Kids Outdoor Survival Skills Series: Basic First Aid

Saturday, May 27, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Gain confidence and skills in the outdoors with your children this spring! Designed to teach children 5-10, this class will focus on common injuries in the outdoors, basic treatment, and learning about what is in a first aid kit and how to use each piece. Prepaid registration required. $30 per child. An adult guardian must accompany each party and are free. Additional adults please consider a donation.
