Kids’ Morning Out: Invasive Intruders at the Park!
Saturday, October 2, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Grownups, drop your children off (ages 6-10) for a fun-filled morning exploring and learning about the invasive plants and animals at Fountain Creek, and the things that we can do to stop the spread! Prepaid registration required. $20 per child, $15 per member child.
Nature Adventures: Frolicky Foxes and Friends
Thursday, October 7 and Friday, October 8, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
Canvas & Cookies: Teen Painting and Nature Class
Saturday, October 9, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
In this drop-off program, teens (ages 13-18) will be guided step-by-step to create a canvas painting of a natural scene. We’ll also have cookies and enjoy a guided nature walk! Prepaid registration required. $30 per teen.
2s & 3s Outdoors: Creatures of the Night
Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
Homeschool Fridays: Discover the Wetlands
Friday, October 15, 2:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Explore the five habitats at Fountain Creek Regional Park. Watch a short video, do a wetland metaphor activity, and go for a hike with a pond study. Designed for grades 3-6. 10 participants minimum; participants can join with other homeschool groups. Prepaid registration required. $4 per person.
Jr. Bird Club
October 16, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Nature lovers ages 8 to 15 are invited to spend time together outdoors and practice their birding skills!
In this meeting, we will learn about corvids. Spooky! Lesson, craft, and birding walk included.
$10 per meeting. Prepaid registration required.
Pumpkin Carving Party
October 30, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Carve pumpkins to leave for the lighted trail at the Jack-o-Lantern event! Pre-scooped pumpkins, patterns, and carving tools provided. Return at night to see your creation in action along the trail (separate fee). Pumpkins may retrieved after 7:30 p.m. $5 per pumpkin. Prepaid registration required. Jack-o-Lantern Trail
October 30, 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Enjoy the lighted Jack-o-Lanterns along the trail, make a craft, hear stories, and roast a marshmallow! Costumes are encouraged at this festive event! Carved pumpkins may be picked up by their owners starting at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Milberger Farms, Peublo. $5 per person, $4 per member.
