El Paso County, Colorado, September 7, 2023 –The El Paso County Highway 105A Construction project team will implement construction traffic control modifications this weekend and will close Knollwood, between Hwy 105 and South Park Drive, starting the evening of Saturday, Sept. 9.
The traffic shift to the south side lanes between Jackson Creek Parkway and Knollwood will expand east to approximately Lake Woodmoor Drive. This traffic shift will remain in place for approximately one year to allow crews to work on the north side lanes of Hwy 105.
Effective Saturday, Sept. 9: Knollwood, between Hwy 105 and South Park Drive, will be fully closed through approximately January 2024 to enable crews to efficiently construct a roundabout at the Knollwood / Village Ridge Point intersection. A detour will be in place. To access Hwy 105, motorists should follow the detour signage to Lake Woodmoor Drive to Woodmoor Drive.
In addition to traffic control devices, a temporary mobile traffic signal will be placed at the Hwy 105 / LDS Church intersection, and the project team will be optimizing signal timing at the Knollwood / Hwy 105 intersection.
Traffic wanting to access Monument Academy and the businesses on Village Ridge Point will be directed to use the new paved temporary access off Hwy 105, just east of Integrity Bank.
The estimated schedule is based on the best information available at this time and is weather and resource dependent.
For the safety of the traveling public and construction crews:
- Please slow down and pay attention to signs and traffic control.
- Watch for workers and vehicles in the construction zone.
- Adhere to posted speed limit signs.
- Be considerate to other drivers trying to merge in.
- Your patience is greatly appreciated!
- Slower traffic is the best way to avoid accidents. But if an accident does occur within.
- The construction zone, and it is safe to do so, please stay out of the road and traffic; try to pull over and get to a side road.
