El Paso County, Colorado, March 8, 2024 – Beginning Monday, March 11, repair work will begin on an underdrain system in the Falcon Highlands area. The maintenance will take place at the intersection of Antelope Meadows Circle and Indian Echo Terrace and will close off the intersection to everyone except residents living in the adjacent cul-de-sac. Through traffic will be redirected to Bridle Vail Way.

This project will be performed by Beers Construction on behalf of Falcon Highlands Metro District. El Paso County will assist with traffic control operations in the form of cones and necessary signage for closures and detours. This closure is expected to last up to three weeks.

While the intersection closure begins on Monday, Falcon Highlands Metro District has already led efforts to prepare for this part of the project. The work includes:

– Relief for the underdrain outfall.

– Cleanouts were raised to assist in cleaning and videoing the underdrain to help remove obstructions in piping.

– Ongoing cleaning efforts for main underdrain lines, including removal of tree roots that appeared to hinder flow into the main lines.

Under the leadership of District 2 Commissioner Carrie Geitner, El Paso County remains actively engaged with the Falcon Highlands Metro District and partner entities to tackle the persistent underdrain system issue in Falcon Highlands, showcasing a dedication to addressing community concerns and finding a solution.
