October 29, 2025 – El Paso County announced today that, beginning January 1, 2026, the Sahwatch and Costilla parking garages will transition to a cashless payment system. This update is designed to enhance safety, reduce wait times, and provide a smoother experience for residents and visitors parking in downtown Colorado Springs.
With credit and debit card payments, patrons can enjoy a faster, safer, and more streamlined parking experience.
“This transition represents a meaningful step forward in how we serve our community,” said Brian Olson, Executive Director of Facilities & Strategic Infrastructure Management. “By implementing a cashless payment system, we are enhancing safety and efficiency while ensuring that patrons enjoy a faster, more convenient parking experience at our downtown garages.”
Garage Locations
- Sahwatch Parking Structure – 255 Sahwatch St.
- Conveniently located next to the Pikes Peak Center.
- Costilla Parking Garage – 50 Costilla St.
- A central downtown option with reliable access to restaurants, shops, and venues.
Parking rates and hours will remain unchanged at both garages. The new system will accept all major credit and debit cards.
To ensure a smooth transition, El Paso County will post signage and distribute flyers in advance of the January 1, 2026, implementation date.
