March 5, 2026 — The El Paso County Division of Veterans Services will host a Veterans Claims Clinic on Wednesday, March 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fountain Police Department, 222 N. Santa Fe Avenue, Fountain, CO 80817.

The clinic provides Veterans, their dependents, and survivors the opportunity to meet one-on-one with accredited Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) for assistance with VA benefits, disability compensation claims, pensions, and other services. The event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and wait times may vary depending on attendance.

“Our mission is simple, we are here to serve,” said Charles Graves, El Paso County Veterans Services Division Manager. “Claims Clinics allow us to meet Veterans where they are, answer their questions directly, and help ensure they receive the benefits they’ve earned through their service.”

The El Paso County Division of Veterans Services advises and assists Veterans who honorably served in any branch of the armed forces of the United States, as well as their dependents and survivors, regarding Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits. Services are provided at no cost.

In 2025, the Division demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the Veteran community through:

  • 83,760 client contacts, including 12,223 appointments and walk-ins, 44,316 phone calls, 23,764 emails, and 3,457 outreach attendees;
  • 4,824 total claims filed, including 662 Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) claims;
  • 3,162 representation requests for VA claims assistance.

These numbers reflect the Division’s continued focus on access, accountability, and service delivery across El Paso County.

Veterans attending the March 19 clinic are encouraged to bring any relevant documentation, including DD-214 discharge paperwork, medical records, and prior VA correspondence.
