The Assessor is elected to a four-year term and is responsible for assessing the value of properties within the county.
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder is where many of the transactions between County Government and its citizens occur. This office is where you go to be issued a marriage license, search for land records and deeds, title your vehicle, renew your vehicle registration, and register to vote. We also are responsible for conducting all County elections.

The Coroner is elected to a four-year term and is responsible for the certification of all deaths that fall under the Coroner’s jurisdiction.

The Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) is an administrative and policy-making body of five Commissioners each representing one geographic district, serving four-year terms. The Board’s regular published hearings are held on Tuesdays (except legal holidays) beginning at 9 a.m. in the Auditorium of Centennial Hall at 200 South Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs.
The Department of Digital, Strategy, and Technology (DST) ensures County employees and residents can use electronical software and enterprise geographic information systems (GIS) to enhance understanding necessary to optimize the management of County resources.
The District Attorney is elected to a four-year term and upholds constitutionally protected rights while diligently pursuing justice on behalf of victims and our community.
Economic Development is tasked with leveraging federal and state resources to foster economic prosperity including affordable housing and community development.
The Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPROEM) provides coordination and support for activities relating to disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery to protect the lives of the citizens in our community.
The Facilities & Strategic Infrastructure Management oversees all 129 County-owned or leased facilities and ensures that all infrastructure meet the American with Disabilities Act and other safety regulations.
The Financial Services Department provides financial management and support to County Elected Offices, management, and staff; ensuring wise financial decisions are made.
Government Affairs supports the Board of County Commissioners and residents through a comprehensive constituent services program that serves as something of an ombudsman for those seeking assistance from the organization.
The Department of Human Resources serves the employees of El Paso County by building a strong, stable workforce fostering an environment of integrity, transparency and dedication to fulfilling and anticipating the needs of the County.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) strives to protect our most vulnerable citizens while providing efficient access to the services provided at the local, state and federal level.
The Justice Services Department supports and improves the functions of the justice system by assisting individuals in functioning lawfully and constructively in the community while ensuring public safety. Veterans Services also falls under Justice Services.
Parks and Community Services provides a variety of programs and services for our residents and visitors and enhance the quality of life in El Paso County, including Environmental Services and Parks.
The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for the enforcement of the Land Development Code and County Ordinances and the Administrative Services division which reviews over the counter applications and provides support to the Planning and Code Enforcement staff.
The Contracts and Procurement Division’s mission is to assist all County departments, offices,
employees, and officials in the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services at the lowest possible cost, consistent with the quality and delivery required.
Public Health exists to promote and protect public health and environmental quality across El Paso County through people, prevention, and partnerships.
The Public Trustee manages the release of deeds of trust and foreclosure of deeds of trust on properties within El Paso County. The Treasurer is elected to a four year term and also serves as the Public Trustee during his or her term.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the care and maintenance of County roads, bridges, and transportation services.

The Sheriff is elected to a four-year term and is responsible to provide the citizens of El Paso County effective and efficient public safety services.
The Surveyor is elected to a four-year term and is responsible for county boundary disputes and files all surveys, field notes, calculations and maps relating to the county boundaries.
The Treasurer is elected to a four-year term and is responsible for the collection and distribution of property taxes in compliance with Colorado Statutes. The Treasurer also serves as the Public Trustee during his or her term.
