The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council will host a community open house to present the draft 2019 – 2021 Action Plan that will guide the efforts of the Council over the next three years.

The event is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, at the Pikes Peak Regional Development Center located at 2880 International Circle (in the hearing room on the second floor).

“El Paso County created the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in 2017 to collaborate with our community partners to pursue innovative and holistic programs and services to improve our criminal justice system,” said Darryl Glenn, President of the Board of County Commissioners and CJCC Chair. “The 2019 – 2021 Action Plan will serve as a roadmap to guide our efforts.”

The open house will provide the opportunity to review the proposed objectives and ask questions and make comments.

“The Council encourages our residents to attend the open house to actively participate in the development of the Action Plan that will guide improvements in our criminal justice system over the next three years,” said Alexis Harper, El Paso County Criminal Justice Planner.

Light refreshments will be provided at the open house.

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council consists of twenty-four representatives from law enforcement, judicial services, behavior health, housing, employment, and social services agencies. The Council reviews criminal justice matters in the Pikes Peak Region and makes recommendations to the El Paso County Board of Commissioners and criminal justice offices and agencies. The Action Plan outlines the goals and priorities, as well as plans and timelines, and how each CJCC committee will work to help achieve and sustain a more effective and efficient criminal justice system.
