July 14, 2025 – El Paso County’s Facilities & Strategic Infrastructure Management Department, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Division, in partnership with the Parks Department, is pleased to announce two upcoming accessibility enhancement projects at public parks in Fountain, Colorado: Fountain Creek Regional Park and John Ceresa Memorial Park.
As part of the County’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, both projects will introduce ADA-compliant features aimed at improving access for residents and visitors.
Fountain Creek Regional Park Accessibility Enhancements
Located at 2010 Duckwood Road, Fountain Creek Regional Park will see the addition of three ADA-compliant parking spaces on the southeast side of the property, along with new curb cuts and paved pathways.
“Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the outdoors without barriers,” said Todd Marts, Executive Director of the Parks Department. “These improvements are more than construction projects. They are part of our mission to ensure every park is a place where, regardless of ability, everyone feels welcome in El Paso County Parks.”
Construction at Fountain Creek Regional Park is scheduled to begin on July 15, 2025, with completion anticipated by mid-August 2025. Temporary access restrictions may be in place during construction.
John Ceresa Memorial Park Accessibility Upgrades
At John Ceresa Memorial Park, located at 1580 Leigh Lane, the County will install accessible parking, paved pathways, seating areas, and other ADA-compliant features. These upgrades are intended to create a more welcoming environment and expand recreational opportunities for all El Paso County residents.
Construction at John Ceresa Memorial Park is scheduled to begin on July 21, 2025, with project completion anticipated by the end of August 2025. Portions of the park may be temporarily inaccessible during this time.
El Paso County appreciates the public’s patience and understanding during these improvement efforts. These projects are part of a broader initiative to enhance accessibility across County-managed parks and public facilities for the benefit of all community members.
