November 25, 2025 – El Paso County announces the retirement of County Surveyor Richard Mariotti, effective January 1, 2026. Mr. Mariotti has served El Paso County as the Surveyor since 2019, providing professional surveying expertise and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the County’s land records.

During his tenure, Mr. Mariotti represented El Paso County in boundary disputes, notified the County Attorney of any unresolved boundary issues or discrepancies, and maintained detailed records—including surveys, field notes, calculations, and maps—for all work authorized and funded by the Board of County Commissioners.

“We appreciate Mr. Mariotti’s years of dedicated service to El Paso County,” said Chair Carrie Geitner of the El Paso County Board of Commissioners. “His professionalism and commitment to public service have been greatly valued, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”
