November 25, 2025 – El Paso County will improve left turn lanes at the intersection of Meridian Road and Flower Road. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 1, and is expected to be completed in 15 working days, weather permitting.
El Paso County’s Department of Public Works is completing this project to improve accessibility along County roads. This project aligns with the County’s vision of being a trusted regional leader known for excellence in county service delivery.
The affected road closure and detour routes are shown on the map below.
Road Closures:
- Left turn lanes at the intersection of Meridian Road and Flower Road.
Detours:
For north-bound Meridian Road traffic entering Walmart:
- Rolling Thunder Way from Meridian Road to Foxtail Meadow Drive.
- Foxtail Meadow Drive from Rolling Thunder Way to Meridian Market View.
- Meridian Market View to Walmart entrance.
For south-bound Meridian Road traffic entering Flower Road:
- Meridian Road from Flower Road to Rolling Thunder Way.
- Rolling Thunder Way from Meridian Road to McLaughlin Road.
- McLaughlin Road from Rolling Thunder Way to Flower Road.
- Flower Road from McLaughlin Road to Meridian Road.
Safety Reminders:
- Reduce speeds in and around the work zone.
- Watch for workers, equipment, signs, and barricades.
