Nature’s Classroom: Colorado Wildlife Detectives

Tuesday, January 10, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Students play detectives in a “who-dunnit” scenario and hone their detective skills on a hike through different habitats, searching for signs of life, and learning about food webs. Geared toward grades 3-5. Children grades 3+ can be dropped off. $4/person

Saturday Puppet Theatre Matinee

Our puppet pals have a story to share! Hear all about their adventures at Bear Creek followed by a craft. $2 suggested donations per person.

January Forest Bathing Walk

Sunset Hike at Santa Fe Open Space

Friday, January 20, 4:30 p.m.

Santa Fe Open Space in Palmer Lake is one of El Paso County’s newest Open Spaces. Meet at the Palmer Lake Recreation Area and take a mild stroll to enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful area at sunset and twilight. Hike is approximately 2.5-3 miles total. Dress for the weather! Prepaid registration required. $5/person, $4/member.

ADULT Day Camp: Stories & Culture of the Ute People

Saturday, January 21, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Adults, have you ever longed for the days when you got to go to summer camp? Come for a day of camp where you’ll learn the stories of the Ute people (and how to tell them) as well as aspects of their culture such as music and art. Bring a lunch and as many snacks as you want! Make sure to bring water since we’ll definitely be hiking. And, or course, there will be a craft! Prepaid registration required. $30/person, $25/member
