December 9, 2020 – El Paso County Parks is seeking public review and survey participation regarding the draft Jones Park Master Plan.
Popular for multiple outdoor recreation pursuits and beautiful scenery, Jones Park is also home of the federally threatened Greenback Cutthroat Trout. Jones Park covers over 1,100 acres of land featuring beautiful stands of aspen trees, mature conifer forests, and mountainous terrain. Located approximately six miles west of Downtown Colorado Springs, Jones Park has great historic, cultural, recreational and ecological importance to the Pikes Peak Region.
To ensure sustainability and effective stewardship of Jones Park, El Paso County contracted with Altitude Land Consultants to coordinate the development of the draft Master Plan. The Master Plan will help guide future sustainability, conservation, and recreation projects. In accordance with the draft Master Plan, El Paso County has engaged in multiple public meetings and a community survey.
El Paso County is asking for continued citizen participation in a second community survey.
The Jones Park Master Plan draft and survey is located on the El Paso County Community Services Department webpage located at www.elpasoco.com.
The draft Master Plan and public input survey will be available through December 23, 2020.
