Fountain Creek Nature Adventures: Outstanding Owls

October 3, 9-10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid reservations required.

2’s & 3’s Outdoors: Leaf Me Alone!

October 10, 9-10:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid reservations required.

Homeschool Fridays: World of Water

Friday, October 11, 2-4:00 p.m.

Students participate in demonstrations that show how people consume resources. Students will pollute and clean up water. Fun and messy! Geared towards grades 1st-5th. $4 per person, 15 participants minimum; participants can join with other homeschool groups. Prepayment required.

Jr. Bird Club – New!

Begins Saturday, October 19, 8:00-11:00 a.m.

Club meets bi-monthly October-August. Children ages 8-15 will connect with the practice of birding, increase love for nature, and a desire to care for the environment. October will cover birding basics and a craft. Bring binoculars. $25/youth for 6 club meetings. Prepaid registration required.

Pumpkin Carving Party

Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m. – 12 Noon

Carve pumpkins to leave to create the lighted trail for the Jack-o-Lantern event. Pre-scooped pumpkins, patterns and carving tools provided. Return at night to experience the lighted trail event (separate fee). Pumpkins may be retrieved after 7:30 p.m. $5 per pumpkin. Prepaid reservations required. Sponsored by Milberger Farms, Pueblo.

Jack-o-Lantern Trail

Saturday, October 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Enjoy the lighted Jack-o-Lanterns along the trail, make a craft, and roast a marshmallow. Costumes encouraged. Carved pumpkins may be retrieved after 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Millberger Farms, Pueblo. $4/member, $5/nonmember.

Creek Week Cleanup at Bear Creek Nature Center

The Creek Week cleanup aims to bring Fountain Creek Watershed communities together to foster the health of our local waterways for citizens and wildlife alike. Help us clean up Bear Creek as part of this effort! Free. Preregistration required.
