November 16, 2023 – The Board of El Paso County Commissioners and the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority are seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the El Paso County PPRTA Citizens Advisory Committee. Applications for the open positions are due by December 1, 2023.

The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is currently seeking two members, one At Large member and one At Large Alternate member.

The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority Board of Directors established at 17-member Citizens Advisory Committee to ensure that citizens are included as partners with the Board to ensure that the capital, maintenance and public transportation projects and programs approved by voters were accomplished.

The CAC consists of members appointed by the member governments: three each from Colorado Springs and El Paso County, two from Manitou Springs, and one each from Green Mountain Falls, Ramah and Calhan. Six at-large members and four alternate at-large members (who vote only when a regular member is absent) are appointed by the PPRTA Board of Directors.

El Paso County’s representation on the PPRTA Citizens Advisory Committee consists of three members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms with no term limits.

Committee meetings are currently being held on the first Wednesday of the month, 1:30pm at PPACG Offices at 14 S. Chestnut St.
