All programs require pre-registration. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, space is extremely limited and programs are subject to change. Please call the nature center or check website for current status.
2s & 3s Outdoors: Life Under a Log
Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
Nature Adventures: Crazy About Cattails
Thursday, August 19 and Friday, August 20, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings 2 and over and adults. Prepaid registration required.
Monarch Magic
Saturday, August 14, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Discover the magical mystery of the monarch migration to Mexico! See and indoor presentation, make a craft, search for caterpillars, and catch adults to tag and release for research. $4 per member, $5 per nonmember. Prepaid registration required.
Eco-Caching in El Paso County Parks
NOW through Saturday, August 28
A fun twist on Geocaching, an Eco-Cache brings you to see a place of interest. The location itself is the treasure! Take a day or all summer to visit 8 El Paso County park locations. Participants will be sent coordinates and site-specific questions upon registration. Prizes awarded upon completion. $10 per person (for prize). Prepaid registration required.
Jr. Bird Club
Saturday, August 28, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Nature lovers ages 8-17 are invited to practice their bird ID and nature observation skills in a social setting! In this meeting, we will focus on shorebirds. Craft and a good bit of walking included. Bring binoculars if you have them! $5 per child. Prepaid registration required. Space is very limited.
