Due to lingering issues with the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Governor’s Office of Information Technology rollout of a new computer system, Colorado DRIVES, El Paso County citizens are encouraged to use online services at mydmv.colorado.gov, to avoid extended waits in motor vehicle offices. There are 34 online services available to allow individuals to Skip-the-Trip to the DMV.
The DRIVES system is currently being used in all Colorado County motor vehicle offices to provide vehicle title and registration services. While the system is functioning well overall, the project team has identified a printing issue, which is causing delays in El Paso County and Statewide offices. As with any large technology project, there will be longer wait times and we expect this to improve. The DMV requests patience while we resolve these issues and adjust to the new system.
