Creek Week Cleanup

Creek Week aims to bring together the Fountain Creek Watershed communities to foster the health of our local waterways for citizens and wildlife alike. Help us clean up Bear Creek as part of this effort. Wear shoes that can get wet and muddy. Free, pre-registration required.
Nature’s Classroom- Colorado Wildlife Detectives
Tuesday, October 4, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Students play detective in a “who-dunnit?” scenario and hone their detective skills on a hike through different habitats, searching for signs of life and learning about food webs. Geared towards grades 3-5. Children grades 3+ can be dropped off.
Kids Night Out: Mad Scientist
Friday, October 7, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Caregivers, drop off your child (ages 6-12) for an evening of spooky science, crazy experiments, and fun games. Dinner is included. Prepaid registration required. $20 per person/$15 per member.
Active Adults: Birding 101

Join us for a two-part session for Beginning Birders! Aiken Audubon leaders will teach about bird identification, behavior and habitats, birding ethics, and choices for binoculars, scopes and field guides. Pre-registration required. $10 per person for both classes, $8 per member.

Traverse the trails at Bear Creek Nature Center, meeting creepy creatures along the way that will unravel and dispel myths about things that go bump in the night. Pre-register for specific times. Recommended for ages 7+. $8 per person/ $7 per member
Ghost Fish: The Legend of the Lake– Theatre on the Trail
Saturday, October 22 Every 15 minutes from 10:15-11:15 a.m. & 12:15-1:30 p.m.
Theatre Across Borders Production Legend has it, there’s a fish that makes dreams come true. To find it, you may need to join the circus, swim with a mermaid or escape a sea monster. Ghost Fish blends puppetry, dance and silly surprises to take audiences on an unforgettable journey. Set in the beauty of local parks, the play will delight audiences 3 and up. Join the fun! Make a wish. Find the fish. Approximately 1 mile trail loop. Prepaid registration for specific time required. $15 per person. Under 2 free.
Kane Ranch Introduction to Night Sky Photography Workshop

Join Mike Pach of 3 Peaks Photography for a workshop to teach you how to photograph the night sky at Kane Ranch Open Space.
