Union Pacific Railway will be doing maintenance work on the Birdsall Road railroad crossing on Monday, May 11, just east of Old Pueblo Road.
Birdsall Road work is expected to begin around 8:00 am and continue until 5:00 pm. Birdsall Road will be closed at the crossing during that time. For residents east of the railroad crossing, there is no alternative route. The contractor working for Union Pacific Railway has notified emergency responders and will be advising residents. Residents east of the railroad crossing are asked to plan ahead. They should consider leaving home early or possibly rescheduling appointments. If deliveries are scheduled, they should also advise the delivery company that there will no access or outlet for those hours.
Drivers are reminded to reduce speeds and watch for workers, equipment, signs, and barricades. The road closure will accelerate the safe and efficient completion of this project.
