September 7, 2021 – Today, the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners recognize September 16 – 19, 2021, as “Healthy Together Week” with an official Proclamation presented on behalf of the Home Front Military Network (HFMN).

“Home Front Military Network helps make it easier for veterans that have a challenge in their lives find a solution,” said Stan VanderWerf, El Paso County Board of Commissioners Chair. “I’m glad they are here and doing what they can for our community.”

HFMN will host various events September 16 – 19, 2021, to bring awareness and support for the health and well-being of our military and veteran community and increase HFMN’s capacity to meet immediate and long-term needs within the community.

Healthy Together Week events include:

  • Opening Reception | September 16 at 5:00 p.m. | US Olympic & Paralympic Museum
  • Pickleball Tournament | September 17-19 | Bear Creek Regional Park
  • 5K Fun Run & Walk | September 18 at 9:00 a.m. | Bear Creek Regional Park
  • Yoga in the Park | September 19 at 1:00 p.m. | Bear Creek Regional Park

“We appreciate the opportunity to help spread the message and get people focused on health and wellness,” said Kate Hatten, HFMN Executive Director.

Over 100,000 veterans and nearly 40,000 active-duty service members and their families live in El Paso County. HFMN promotes and enhances collaboration among military organizations, state and local government agencies, and community service organizations that provide services to support the health and well-being of these individuals and their families. They provide more than 100,000 services each year, including emergency financial assistance, resource coordination, and case management.
