Firefly Celebration & Night Hike

Thursday & Friday, July 5 & 6, 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Yes, we have spotted fireflies in the park over the years! Learn about the lives of fireflies, make a firefly craft and hike to find these rare wonders in the park. $4 per member, $5 per nonmember. Prepaid reservations required.

Fountain Creek Nature Center Travels to Fox Run Regional Park

We invite residents in the northern El Paso County communities and beyond to visit with nature center staff, learn the role and function of El Paso County Nature Centers, play nature games with staff, see a puppet show, and explore interactive exhibits. Free!

Wild Child Adventures Nature Camp for Middle Schoolers

July 9-13, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

For students entering grades 6-8. Experience success with outdoor team challenges, survival basics, nature skills, crafts and service projects. Specially designed for middle school students. $130 per member child, $140 per nonmember child. Prepaid registration required.

Cattail Kids I Nature Camp

July 23-27, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

For children entering grades 1-5. This camp features our favorite outdoor activities including fishing, bug hunting, pond critters, beaver dam building and outdoor skills including shelter building. $130 per member child, $140 per nonmember child. Prepaid registration required.

Active Adult Series: Black Forest Regional Park Hike

Saturday, July 14, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Two-mile hike discussing impact from the Black Forest Fire, showcasing erosion control projects and new trail construction. Moderate hike within the burn scar. Option to bring lunch for after the hike. Meet at pavilion near restrooms. Prepaid registration required. $3 per member, $4 per nonmember.

Nature Explorers: Nature’s Clean-Up Crew

National Moth Week Celebration

Moths are the most diverse and successful organisms on earth. Come celebrate National Moth Week at Bear Creek with the Mile High Bug Club! There will be a presentation on moths, followed by a fun night of sheet lighting and short moonlit hikes. Prepaid registration required. $3 per member, $4 per nonmember.
