Nature’s Classroom: Winter Adaptations

Wednesday, February 2, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

With more families schooling from home this year than ever before, this is a great chance to bring your student in to have a hands on and engaging environmental experience in nature!

A puppet show, hike and interactive stations will highlight the adaptations of local animals in winter. Geared towards grades 1-3. $4 per person. Prepaid registration required.

Kids’ Night Out: For the Love of Nature

Friday, February 4, 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Caregivers, drop your child (ages 6-11) off for an evening of fun activities including a night hike and campfire at Bear Creek Nature Center while you enjoy an evening to yourself! Dinner is included.

$15 per member / $20 per nonmember. Prepaid registration required.

February Forest Bathing Walks with Summer Lajoie at Listening Pines

Saturday’s; February 5, 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. & February 19, 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Experience the therapeutic practice of Shinrinyoku and awaken your senses with a slow, mindful walk through the woods and a beautiful tea ceremony.

Souper Bowl Saturday!

Saturday, February 12, 12:00 p.m.-2:00p.m.

It’s a Souper Fundraiser! Come on by Bear Creek Nature Center and sample soups from local restaurants. Participants will also get to take home a ceramic bowl of their choice!

All proceeds will go to our non-profit towards the building of a Northern Nature Center. $20 per person. Prepaid registration required.

Active Adults: Full Moon Hike

Wednesday, February 16, 4:45 p.m.

Travel the trails of Bear Creek Nature Center with a naturalist to celebrate

February’s “Snow Moon.” Trail will include uphill and downhill and may be icy or snowy– if so, microspikes and poles highly recommended.
