Fountain Creek Nature Adventures: Super Sleepers

Thursday, January 2, 10-11:30 am

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid reservations required.

Morning Hike & Campfire

Saturday, January 4, 10-11:30am

Start the New Year off right by joining us for a short winter hike followed by a campfire, songs, stories, and of course s’mores! $5 per non-member, prepaid reservations required.

2s & 3s Outdoors: D is for Deer

Thursday, January 9, 10-11:15 am

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults. Prepaid reservations required.

Wolf Moon Hike

Friday, January 10, 7-9pm

Howl! How did the different moon phases get their names and what causes their phases? Join a naturalist for an indoor discussion and an outdoor guided hike on an easy, moonlit trail testing your nocturnal animal knowledge along the way. Dress for the weather! $4 per non-member, prepaid reservations required.

Beginning to advanced birders are invited to observe and record the numbers of bird species and populations found in Fountain Creek Regional Park. $5 per person.

Live Birds of Prey!

Saturday, January 25, 10-11am

Learn about hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, and vultures through a live birds of prey program with Nature & Wildlife Recovery Center. The presentation includes two different birds of prey, raptor adaptations, predator/prey relationships, natural history, personal stories of the birds presented, and our work to rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey. $5 per non-member, prepaid registration required. Donations appreciated for the birds.

Saturday, January 4, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Let’s hike and search for birds that call Bear Creek home during the winter months and make a bird treat ornament to attract birds to your yard. All ages. $4 member, $5 nonmember. Prepaid registration required.

Full Moon Kids’ Night Out at Bear Creek

Friday, January 10, 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Parents – enjoy an evening to yourselves while your child spends an evening at Bear Creek. Full moon night hike, educational games and activities and a campfire. Dinner provided. $15 per member child, $20 per nonmember child. Prepaid registration required.
