February 19, 2026 – El Paso County is reconstructing a drainage ditch near the intersection of Ford Street and Seneca Road, extending toward Valley Street. The project will replace the existing channel with reinforced concrete to improve long-term durability and provide a minor increase in drainage capacity.
Construction started on Wednesday, February 18, and is expected to last approximately two months, with completion anticipated in late March.
The drainage improvements will stabilize the existing channel, reduce ongoing erosion, and enhance stormwater conveyance in the area. Upgrading the ditch with reinforced concrete will strengthen the infrastructure and support continued reliability of the County’s stormwater system.
Traffic Impacts:
No road closures or detours are anticipated. Drivers should expect slight lane shifts around active construction areas. Minor delays are possible during work hours.
Please refer to the map below for general traffic impacts.
Safety Reminders:

- Use caution, particularly during winter weather.
El Paso County wishes to thank drivers in advance for their cooperation.
