June 2, 2025 – The Board of County Commissioners unequivocally condemns the senseless act of targeted violence that occurred yesterday in Boulder, Colorado.

Antisemitism has no place in our country, and our support for members of the Jewish faith and the State of Israel remains steadfast. We are keeping all those affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers.

We’re also extremely troubled by the initial reports that the suspect is allegedly in the United States illegally. This further underscores El Paso County’s opposition to Colorado’s sanctuary laws and policies, which hinder local law enforcement from fully cooperating with our federal partners to keep communities safe – and reinforces our support for President Trump’s agenda to deport those who are in the country illegally.
